On December 16th, 2014 CHBP presented a $10,000 to Stephanie Munz-Campbell Executive Director of Grace Place for Children and Families.
The donation was the result of Council's fundraising efforts through its annual Gala, this year called a "Latin Night", a lively and well attended event full of dancing, Latin music and food which took place on September the 27th, at the Wyndemere Country Club in Naples.
Every year during the Hispanic Heritage Month, which by Federal Law is celebrated between September 15th and October 15th, CHBP hosts its annual Gala which benefit a local charity chosen for its work in favor of those Hispanics most in need. Previous beneficiaries were Catholic Charities, Eden Autism Services, Boys and Girls Club, and the Safe and Healthy Children Coalition of Collier County.
Proceedings from the event help Grace Place programs aimed to children and families in Golden Gate City, many of which are Hispanic. Those programs include Mon and Tot literacy, kindergarten readiness, school age programs on literacy, leadership, after school; as well as adult English language and literacy and a Food Pantry.
